Jewell School is a K-12 school nestled in the Oregon Coast range. The low-slope gabled building forms reflect its rural setting, while the extensive use of wood through-out the interior reflect the nature and economy of the community. The addition is comprised of 3 classroom pods; new public spaces including a multi-purpose room, commons, and library; and new administration facilities. Through-out the two-phase construction, built between 2006-2007, all school programs remained in place. The remaining portions of the existing building were upgraded tech-nologically and seismically. Angie was the lead designer on the project team while at Architects SLX.
